About

Jibhi sits in the Seraj or Banjar Valley in outer Kullu, off the Aut–Sainj road. It has stayed low-key: a cluster of slate-roofed houses, a stream, and a short walk to the Jibhi waterfall. It shares the valley with Ghiyagi, Shoja and Banjar, and works as a quiet base for Jalori Pass (with the Serolsar Lake walk and Raghupur Fort), the Great Himalayan National Park buffer, and the Chehni Kothi tower. Trout fishing on the Tirthan is a draw. Homestays and small lodges have grown here without large hotels.

How to reach

  1. From the Mandi–Manali highway, leave at Aut (before the tunnel) and drive up the Banjar road.
  2. Buses run from Mandi and Kullu to Banjar; local transport or taxi continues to Jibhi.
  3. Bhuntar airport is about 60 km; Chandigarh is roughly 250 km.

Best time to visit

March to June for green valleys and September to November for clear weather. Jalori Pass road usually closes with winter snow.
