About
Bir is a village with a strong Tibetan settlement and a growing café and co-working scene; Billing, about 14 km up the hill, is the paragliding take-off. Tandem flights of 15–30 minutes are the main draw for visitors, run by licensed operators; the site also attracts experienced solo pilots and has hosted the Paragliding World Cup. Bir is also a base for short walks, the Deer Park monastic institute, and drives to Baijnath and Palampur.
